2017 has been an incredible year for Spartan Race, with more racers than ever before! Not only that, the UK team have sold out races, added new venues and had the first ever UK Ultra Beast, Hurricane Heat and Agoge.
So what is Spartan Race?
Spartan is a sport, a community and a philosophy. A global leader in the sport of obstacle racing, Spartan are constantly innovating new ways to get people off their sofa, outside and active! With more than 130 races around the world annually – they offer three core races each escalating in distance, obstacle count and challenge level. The Spartan Sprint (5+ kilometers/20+ obstacles), the Spartan Super (12+ kilometers/ 25+ obstacles) and Spartan Beast (19+ kilometers/ 30+ obstacles). Courses are riddled with signature obstacles: mud, barbed wire, walls, rope and fire.
Spartan Race provides a proving ground for beginner and professional obstacle racers looking to test themselves in new ways across the world. The Spartan mentality is about changing your frame of reference and pushing yourself to conquer new challenges.
dryrobe have been proud to work with Spartan since 2016, when we produced one of our most sought-after special edition collaborations. The Spartan dryrobe was originally released in a limited run of 100 - which sold out before the pre-sale had finished! Since then, the Spartan dryrobe has become a familiar sight at obstacle course races across the country. Currently still available, check them out for yourself here.
The penultimate UK Spartan Race of the year is almost upon us - the 2nd/3rd September will see Spartans from across the country head to Spartan HQ at Marston Lodge to take on the Sprint, Super or Hurricane Heat.
The final Spartan race of the year heads to Windsor on the 30th September/1st October - where Spartans will be taking on the hills, mud and obstacles in either the Sprint or the 20km Beast!
We hear a lot of awesome stories from the dryrobe community who have taken on a Spartan race, or two, or more and say it's the best challenge they've ever taken on. So get out there, take on the challenge yourself and become a Spartan! AROO!
