We often get to meet some incredible people here at dryrobe - this morning we got to meet Nikki Love, an amazing lady taking on an unbelievable challenge. Nikki's set herself the task of running 63 marathons in 63 days and in the process set a new world record for most consecutive marathons by a woman.
Nikki came by the office to catch up and chat about how she was getting on, before setting off for marathon 40. We were blown away by her story - she describes herself as a 50-year-old average runner with an above average level of grit and determination - traits definitely needed to conquer this challenge.
She told us about her journey so far, starting from John O' Groats and working her way down the country towards Land End - running through some incredible British countryside and inspiring people as she went. She told us about one of the real highlights of her challenge - starting many of her marathons by speaking at schools and telling the children about her journey, before they would join her for the first stage of the day's marathon.
As well as taking on this amazing feat, setting a new world record and inspiring everyone she meets - Nikki is also raising valuable funds for the incredible charity HDA, who support anyone affected by Huntington's disease. She is hoping to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause - to help her on the way please check out the JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/63in63
Good luck Nikki, we'll be cheering you on for the rest of your journey!
