We’re excited to announce that dryrobe® is supporting The 2 Minute Beach School this summer, helping to make the sessions free for everyone!
Run by The 2 Minute Foundation, these fun-filled sessions focus on our coastline, the creatures that inhabit it and what you can do to help protect them.
The 2 Minute Foundation is an incredible charity that is devoted to cleaning up our planet 2 minutes at a time. They believe that simple, achievable acts can add up to make a great difference.
Founded by writer and surfer Martin Dorey, their 2 minute campaigns (#2minutebeachclean, #2minutelitterpick, #2minutestreetclean and #2minutesolution) use social media and direct action to empower, educate, inspire and enable individuals, groups and businesses to make simple changes or take part in simple actions that will contribute to the planet’s wellbeing, as well as their own.
Taking place in Bude, where The 2 Minute Foundation is based, the sessions run throughout the summer holidays. These fun beach experiences are delivered by qualified teachers, with activities including rockpool scrambles, 2 minute beach cleans, seaweed surveys and more. Kids, grown-ups, families, holidaymakers and locals are all welcome to get involved.
Claire Giner, The 2 Minute Foundation’s Campaigns Manager, said of the new partnership:
“Thanks to the kind donation received by dryrobe®, we are able to run our 2 Minute Beach School throughout the summer holidays. Now more than ever, an outside educational setting is so important; salty sea air, a wild living space to explore and face to face interaction. Children, groups and families can learn all about our coastline and coves, and how to mitigate plastic pollution - 2 minutes at a time.”
dryrobe® founder Gideon Bright added:
“We’re thrilled to be able to support The 2 Minute Beach School, helping to make these great sessions free for everyone who wants to take part. At dryrobe® we believe that spending time outdoors is so important, and we’re passionate about protecting our natural environment. Partnering with The 2 Minute Foundation to support these beach lessons is therefore a perfect fit for us.
I hope that everyone who takes part this summer comes away inspired to spend more time exploring our coastlines, as well as being armed with the knowledge to help protect them from plastic pollution.”
