At Dryrobe®, we want to have as minimal a negative impact on the planet as possible, while also supporting individuals and charities to help more people get outdoors and do what they love. That is why we are incredibly stoked to announce another year supporting GreenKayak, an amazing environmental NGO dedicated to cleaning up our waterways.
Who are GreenKayak?
Founded in 2017 by Tobias and Oke, GreenKayak was born from seeing trash floating in the canals of Copenhagen. They decided they needed to step up and do something about it. Fast forward to today, GreenKayak operates as an environmental NGO, aiming to reduce trash in the water and to engage as many people as possible in fighting for cleaner oceans.

“Change starts with perspective. When you’re out on the water, every piece of trash becomes impossible to ignore. You don’t need to be an expert to make a difference, just someone willing to show up, paddle out, and choose to act.” - Oke Carstensen, GreenKayak Co-Founder

How it Works
The GreenKayak model is brilliantly simple: you can use one of their kayaks completely for free, as long as you pick up trash from the water and share your experience with your friends on social media.
Here is how you can get involved:
-
Download the App: Search for the GreenKayak app and download it to your phone.
-
Choose Your Spot: Select the country, city, and specific location where you want to paddle.
-
Book Your Trip: Find a timeslot that works for you, show up at the host location, and get out on the water!
Kayaks are super efficient for this kind of conservation work. They are stable, easy for anyone to paddle, and allow you to reach shallow areas and tight corners to collect rubbish. It's a bit like an environmental treasure hunt, and it doesn't matter if the sun is shining or not; you're always doing something good for the planet.

The Dryrobe® Partnership at Mellowpark Berlin
“We're so proud to work with so many amazing charities. GreenKayak can only offer its free-of-charge concept thanks to cool partner brands like Dryrobe®, and we are thrilled to help keep its volunteers warm and get more people out on the water.
Currently, we have two co-branded Dryrobe® x Green Kayaks stationed at Mellowpark in Berlin. Mellowpark is a massive hub for youth sports, featuring BMX tracks, basketball courts, and skateboarding. It’s an awesome community space. Berlin local "ocean hero" Max is on the ground there, helping people get safely onto the water to collect trash. It creates a perfect "win-win" situation: people coming for the skatepark discover the GreenKayaks, and people coming for the kayaks stick around to enjoy a coffee, a beer, and the vibrant park atmosphere.” Oke Carstensen, GreenKayak Co-Founder

Why Every Kilo Matters
The reality is that the trash found in our waters is largely single-use packaging and consumer products, all of which come from us, humans. If trash is left in rivers like the Spree in Berlin, it eventually flows into the ocean, degrades, and is eaten by fish. It's a massive issue, but it is our shared responsibility to address it.
Every single day, hundreds of people are out in Green Kayaks across Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, collecting dozens of kilograms of trash.
Ready to make a difference? Download the GreenKayak app, book a trip, and let's paddle for cleaner oceans.
