Monitoring and taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint

At dryrobe®, we’re aware that our manufacturing and distribution processes release greenhouse gases and are doing our best to limit our impact. Each year, we work to improve the calculation of our emissions and take meaningful actions to reduce them.

In 2022 we worked with One Carbon World to support La Pitanga/Weyerhaeuser – a reforestation project in South America. In 2023, we have done things slightly differently. dryrobe® is supporting the restoration of nature on the shoreline, to help increase biodiversity and local communities whilst supporting carbon capture through nature's blue carbon stores. Keep an eye out for more details soon.

Some of the steps that we’re taking…

Buying less, buying better

Overconsumption is placing a huge amount of pressure on our planet’s resources and we want to encourage our customers to not buy more than they need. That’s why since dryrobe® was founded, every product that we’ve produced has been built to last for years and years.

Responsible packaging

The packaging for our products is now made out of FSC-certified and recycled cardboard. This ensures material for our packaging is responsibly sourced.

Trusted supply chain

We believe that collaboration and transparency with our suppliers is crucial to make real and lasting changes, which is why we choose to work with trusted suppliers who we’ve built positive relationships with. All of our supplier factories maintain SMETA approval or are BSCI audited.

Community projects

Giving back to our community has always been important to us. We founded the dryrobe® Warmth Project to support and non-profits that share our values of protecting the environment and promoting wellbeing through outdoor activity.

Accountability

As a business, we have the responsibility to be transparent and open with what we are doing. Since 2022 we have produced an annual ‘Sustainability and Social Impact’ report which looks back at what we have achieved so far and our plans for the year ahead and beyond.

Our materials

PFC-free waterproof finishing

We use PFC-free BIONIC-FINISH ECO Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) finishing on all of our waterproof products. This plant-based solution doesn't contain any harmful compounds, delivering high-performance, long lasting weather resistance and reducing the impact on the environment.

Recycled nylon

All our dryrobe® Advance changing robes and accessories are made with 100% recycled nylon, approved by Global Recycle Standard. This breathable, weatherproof shell fabric is made with pre-consumer recycled nylon that would otherwise be destined for landfill.

Recycled polyester

The super warm, fast-drying fleece used in our dryrobe® Advance changing robes is made from 100% recycled polyester, approved by the Global Recycle Standard and certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100. This high-performance fabric is made from recycled post-consumer plastic.

Organic cotton

We only use 100% organic cotton for our Towel dryrobe® range, certified by The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
